 I am a new owner of a 2013 Hyundai sonata which i really enjoy driving. Mark Galvante and Tommy Bunarjo was really helpful with me deciding the right path on which car was the right one for me. They were really on point on helping me get the features i wanted with the car. I am really impressed with their customer service here at Hyundai Serramonte. Definitely a place i recommended if your shopping for a car. Great prices and really nice cars. Overall great environment and really felt welcomed as soon as i stepped out of my car. The Hyundai sales team is incredible! I have worked with Tommy, Denzo, Ron and Beinz and they gave me a memorable experience. They are so customer oriented and so helpful. They brought us coffee, tea, pastries. They listen, they're not aggressive in their sales approach, they are sincere and they have empathy They're also patient and very friendly. Beinz greeted us and immediately helped us find the car that we wanted. The whole team was very friendly with our son, which made the experience event better. They brought him crayons, balloons and all sorts of distractions to keep him busy while doing business together. I have to say that my wife and I are very happy with the Hyundai team in Serramonte. We left with a brand new Veloster and Beinz followed up with us with a courtesy call to make sure we're taken care of while she left for vacations. What a wonderful sales team!!! Inspiring! I definitely recommend this place! This is the 3rd vehicle i've purchased and they were by far the most informative and most helpful. I walked in with a pre-approved fixed rate loan and Ron Macutay was able to get me the car I wanted at an even lower interest rate. His expertise and patience saved me close to $5000 in interest rates! He definitely works with you and does his best for whatever situation you are in. I was in the market for a used vehicle that stayed within a set budget, and Ron was able to get me a BRAND NEW vehicle at a price that did not tip my budget. I am very happy with my purchase and the person who helped me. He never came off as a salesman. He was very professional while keeping a "down to earth" attitude. This made it very easy to talk to him. I would definitely recommend coming in to see him if you are in the market for a good vehicle!

If I can give a 10-star, I would. I Highly recomend Bernz as a sales person and Andy as Finance person. Bernz helped me alot and was detailed finding the right car for myself. Nice new facility too compared to the dealer in San Francisco and Burlingame. Will definitely recommend them as they are very transparent about everything

I had been looking to buy a new car for the last couple months. I had looked at several different dealers and manufactures during this process within a 150 mile radius of daly city area. In all I believe I have visited well over 20 dealers during this time period. I was not looking for a Hyundai nor did I give it any real thought until a week ago. I walked into Hyundai Serramonte and like many dealers show rooms there was activity...but this dealer had sales Reps who actually greeted me and made me feel like I was important to them ( didn't get that at any other dealer). What kept me there was one salesman Named Paul Wingquist. Paul greeted me and my family in a way that made us all feel welcomed. Paul answered my questions and asked several himself trying to find what I was really looking for which was more helpful to me than I realized. I thought I had figured out what I wanted and set up a date and time to "do the deal"....then I took a left turn at another car...I called Paul and thanked him for his time. Rather than be upset or vexed with me in the " im not selling a car to this guy" manner..Paul maintained a great conversation, thanked me for calling him and left the door open in what I felt was a very Positive light. Well 2 days went by and I elected not to purchase the "other car". I called Paul on Sunday, asked if he would be in today and set an "open" appointment ( ill be in at some point) which was ok with Paul. Well today I purchased my new Hyundai Sonata Hybrid...I am please with the purchase, the equipment package and price are unbelievable. I never thought a Hyundai would be a car I would get...but it is now. I tried to keep this short and to the point, I don't give reviews but in this case I felt it needed to be done........ Hyundai To Release An Electric Car In The USA Soon


Hyundai has always been reluctant to adopt battery power, but it appears that stance may have changed as they are set to deliver a battery car to the US market.

There are no real specifics available as of yet, even though the company already has a compact battery electric vehicle called the BlueOn available in South Korea.

It appears that Hyundai Motors America -HMA may have had their hand forced in delivering an electric vehicle, especially if they want to stay on the good side of regulators in the busy California market.

Fuel cells or electric battery-powered Hyundai?

HMA Chief Executive John Krafcik said that the zero-emission focus of the company is still with fuel cell at the moment, although he did say an all electric Hyundai car would be on the horizon.

Hyundai is still something of the new kid on the block when it comes to battery-based vehicles that can be anything from hybrids to plug-ins to full battery electric cars.

As of now, the company offers hybrid versions of the Sonata and Elantra in the US.
The pressure is on for Hyundai to do even more.

The time is near when California will demand that all of the major automakers offer some sort of zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) in their line-ups.

There are already a few out there including the likes of the Nissan Leaf, the Ford Focus EV, the Tesla Model S, the new Chevrolet Spark EV, Honda’s Fit EV and the Toyota RAV4-EV.

Hyundai has already stated that it would try to meet regulatory mandates by going the fuel cell route.
Those types of vehicles use a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen to power an electric vehicle and are often referred to as “refillable batteries.”
 
The Korean automaker started selling the hydrogen-powered version of the ix35 in Europe earlier this month, with a fuel-cell Tuscon allegedly coming soon, as well.

The major appeal with hydrogen is that it can quickly be refilled, but the sticking point is that there are still very few refueling stations available, which is sure to put a dent in customer appeal.
That is a factor that could make Hyundai look more seriously at a battery car.

That’s not to say that battery cars don’t some without any type of limitations, and we don’t just mean range.

High costs of electric cars

These types of cars are notoriously expensive to build, and while they have been charging steep premiums, many of the automakers are forced to absorb much of the added cost.

For example, Fiat/Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has already stated that the company will take a $10,000 hit on every Fiat 500e that it sells in California.

That’s one of the reasons why you won’t see too many of the current BEV models like the Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model S available across the country.

Most of the other big automakers are keeping their BEV models in the California market, as well as a few other states that are looking to adopt the same rules as the Golden State.

It is unsure whether Hyundai will go nationwide or choose to stick with what many critics are calling a “compliance car.”

Hyundai BlueOn Electric Car

The fact that Hyundai already has the BlueOn electric car available in their domestic market means that it could fairly easily be made available here in the States.

The Korean model currently delivers about 90 miles on a full charge, with a top speed of about 80 mph. The vehicle is powered by a 16.4-kilowatt/hour lithium polymer battery, and goes from 0 to 60 in 13.1 seconds.

A prototype version of the car, which was roughly based on the i10, made its first appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009. Production actually commenced late last year.

It makes sense for Hyundai to bring the BlueOn to the States, but the concern is that the range and speed limitations of the vehicle would put it on par with the slow-selling Mitsubishi i-MiEV.

That has prompted several observers to suggest that they wouldn’t be surprised to see the Koreans take an alternative electric car route.

The possibilities include improving the performance of the Hyundai BluOn or moving to a different model altogether.

Krafcik is remaining tight-lipped about the whole thing for now, which includes when we might actually see a Hyundai electric battery car here in the US.

Ron and Bernz were great to work with. They were very customer service focused. They were able to answer all our questions and close the deal for our new Santa Fe in no time at all. So happy we will be driving our new car home this afternoon, so my hubby can still get in his game of golf : ). Coming to a mutually acceptable price was a very hassle free experience. Hyundai Genesis and Veloster Recognized in AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards



The 2013 Hyundai Genesis and Veloster topped the Aspirational Luxury Car and Sporty Car categories respectively in the 2013 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA). AutoPacific’s VSA survey measures how satisfied an owner is with his/her new vehicle.

Hyundai Delivers First 15 Hydrogen-Powered IX35 Fuel Cell in Europe

Hyundai Motor Company has today delivered the first of its assembly line-produced ix35 Fuel Cell vehicles to the City of Copenhagen in Denmark. They were handed over by Hyundai Motor Europe, Hyundai Motor’s European sales subsidiary, during the opening ceremony of Denmark’s first hydrogen refuelling station.

The 15 ix35 Fuel Cell units are the first hydrogen-powered vehicles manufactured on a production line to be introduced in Europe.

Mr. Byung Kwon Rhim, President of Hyundai Motor Europe said, “Hyundai Motor is committed to hydrogen as the fuel of the future for Europe. Delivering assembly-line produced ix35 Fuel Cell is evidence that we have a realistic solution to the region’s sustainable mobility needs.”

The ix35 Fuel Cell produces no harmful tailpipe emissions – only water vapour – and so its use will help the city of Copenhagen achieve its aim of becoming carbon-neutral by 2025.

Since 2011, Hyundai Motor has deployed prototypes of its third-generation ix35 Fuel Cell in a wide range of initiatives to raise awareness of hydrogen’s benefits as an automotive fuel; to support the drive for establishing a pan-European refueling infrastructure; and to demonstrate the cars’ real-world practicality to public and private organisations.

For example, EU policy-makers have access to ix35 Fuel Cell vehicles – via the EU Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) in Brussels– showing the market-readiness of Hyundai Motor’s technology. And, earlier this year, senior representatives from 100 European businesses learned about and tested the ix35 Fuel Cell at a Hyundai Motor event in Berlin.

Hyundai Motor has been a world leader in the development of hydrogen fuel cell technology ever since research into its first fuel cell began in 1998. The company’s proprietary fuel cell technology is developed at its Eco Technology Research Institute in Korea. Hyundai intends to build 1.000 ix35 Fuel Cell cars by 2015 at its Ulsan factory, also in Korea.

The ix35 Fuel Cell is equipped with a 100 kW (136 ps) electric motor, and can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h. Two hydrogen storage tanks, located between the vehicle’s rear axle, with a total capacity of 5,64 kg, enable the vehicle to travel a total of 594 km on a single fuelling. Filling the storage hydrogen tanks to maximum capacity takes just a few minutes.
